Study Reveal We finally love our siblings at age of 25
Researchers
who polled 2,000 adults aged over 30 found three-quarters have a better
relationship with their brother or sister now than they did in
childhood, with 45 per cent saying they used to bicker constantly.
Three
in 10 said their relationship with a sibling drastically improved when
one left the family home, either for university or to live with a
significant other. Complaining about mum and dad brought many (15 per
cent) closer, while a further 16 per cent said they finally appreciated
their sibling once they’d settled into a family of their own.
A
spokeswoman for gifting website GettingPersonal.co.uk, which carried
out the research, said: “It’s great to have a sibling – but it can take a
while to realise it.”
