Jonathan has elevated Nigeria to civilized democracy — Red Cross
THE Nigerian Red Cross Society has said that President Goodluck Jonathan’s handling of the last general elections in the country has elevated the country to the league of civilized democracies.
The vice chairman of the Anambra State branch of the society, Professor Peter Katchy said during the ceremony to mark the anniversary of the organization that by accepting the electoral victory of General Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 general elections even before the announcement was made, Jonathan has made history and charged Nigerian politicians to emulate him.
Katchy, said: “Sequel to the peaceful conduct and acceptance of the presidential poll, Nigeria has become a reference point, the torchbearer and role model to the rule of law and democratic principles
in the comity of nations.
“We therefore urge all the politicians to guard this victory jealously by emulating President Jonathan’s sacrifice to save the country.”
